Experience farm life by driving in Melbourne, Dayang Road, Kangaroo Island and Adelaide. Raise kangaroos and make koala sea lions chase and run
How happy we are
For those of us who are still working and raising children to save our pension, the time we can spend traveling is very limited. Every time I catch up with a public holiday, plus a few days of paid leave, I finally squeeze together a week. This week is so precious that before traveling, I will think twice and try to plan carefully to avoid wasting time; Just before departure, I trembled and prayed for good weather and regular flights. But once the journey begins, immediately put down the burden, emancipate the body and mind, and concentrate on seeing, listening and experiencing. Therefore, this week's travel, the past few weeks' travel in a year, has become a more precious and dazzling memory than gold and jewelry. It's a rare opportunity to travel with parents, wife and children. All the trivia at home are lost, holding the camera, pulling parents, holding his wife and daughter (... Lots of hands, We are going to Australia this Spring Festival!
I always want to go to Tasmania, to see the original and changeable landscape, to taste delicious food and wine, to explore the temperate rainforest, to find the trace of Tasmanian demons. But the time limit and the distance make me have to leave Tasmania to hope for the near future. Finally decided to go to Melbourne, take the ocean road. Nine days is just the time for us to visit South Australia and visit Kangaroo Island, which is much smaller than Tasmania. There is a journey of 600 kilometers in one day, and also the pleasure of walking slowly all day. Considering that it will be very hard for parents to ride for a long time, especially for the old people who often need to breathe "fresh air" (need lighters), so they will basically stop every hour to have a rest. Generally speaking, the journey is not rush, and you don't have to get up too early in the morning. Of course, some scenic spots will be saved, but travel is really not to see the scenic spots, travel is every minute on the road, the scenery outside the window, the cattle and sheep on the grass, the temporary parking lawn and river, the rolling car drowsy, the fire in the cabin, the evening meal made by everyone, the Milky way at night, and even the hasty rain... Travel is not for the market, but for enjoyment!
Travel tips:
Entry exit
-For entry into Australia, the most important thing is not to bring fresh or packaged animal and plant products, food, etc. Airport Customs is very strict, there will be beautiful dogs to smell everyone's luggage. Once the dog showed his teeth at my luggage. It turned out that the fruit I ate on the plane still had a taste.
-There are Chinese food supermarkets in Melbourne, and some Asian food can be seen in general supermarkets, so you can enter the country without food.
-You can get a refund when you leave the country, but there are always queues at the refund Office of Melbourne Airport. The best way is to go online in advance( http://www.customs.gov.au/trs/startclaim/index.htm )Register the tax refund content, there is a special queue for online registration when queuing up, which is faster. But it's better to get to the airport early, because there are so many people.
Car rental
-Chinese driver's license needs translation and notarization to rent and drive in Australia. Of course, it's not absolute. I used to rent a car in Western Australia with a Chinese driver's license. People from the car rental company said that the name on the driver's license was not in English and I couldn't understand it. So I took my passport to her and compared it with Chinese. Finally, I rented it. But it's not necessarily good luck every time, so it's better to be safe and do a good translation notarization in China. In addition, Chinese driver's license can not apply for international driver's license, so the international driver's license online is not very reliable.
-From Cape Jarvis to Kangaroo Island, you'd better buy tickets in advance. You can buy them on sealink's website or call to book them. Half an hour in advance to the ferry terminal line up, you can park the car in the waiting area, people get off to go through the registration procedures, in the boat, only the driver can be in the car, other people need to board from the pedestrian boarding port. When the car gets on the ship, some of them are going forward and some of them are going backward, so we should obey the command of the staff. After the car is parked, the driver can go upstairs to the cabin and come down to drive when it is almost there. There is a detailed map of Kangaroo Island in the cabin for reference.
-It should be noted that some car rental companies prohibit renting cars on the island or across states, so be sure to ask clearly before renting a car. You can also choose to rent a car on Kangaroo Island, but it is said that the price is expensive and you need to book it as soon as possible.
-If you are driving a RV to the island, you need to check the total length of the vehicle and confirm with sealink when you buy the ticket. The ticket price is also different.
-Most car rental companies require that two wheel drive vehicles not be allowed to drive on unpaved roads or in the wild. So you need to know in advance the road conditions of the scenic spots you want to go to and whether you need a 4WD.
-There is no gas station 90 km after Luobu in Nan'ao, so it is necessary to fill up the gas well in advance. Kangaroo Island oil is very expensive, so in Cape Jarvis, it's best to fill it up before going to the island. You'd better fill up the car with oil when you return it, otherwise the price of refilling oil is very expensive.
get accommodation
On this trip, we experienced several different ways of accommodation, each with its own characteristics. Generally speaking, Australian hotels are quite simple compared with the same level hotels in Asia and China, and many of them do not provide free breakfast and Internet. So relatively speaking, I think living in B & B or holiday rental, on the one hand, is cost-effective, on the other hand, I can feel the Australian lifestyle more closely. There are also some special accommodation places, such as farms and wineries, which are good choices for you to experience the fresh environment while providing accommodation.
When we live in holiday rental houses, we need to keep them clean and tidy. When others lend us their homes, we should take care of them as our own homes. After confirming the rental, the owner will send the notice and guide. Generally, you don't need to check in, so you need to see how to get the key first. The local garbage collection is very different from that in China. For example, on Kangaroo Island, there is a garbage truck to collect garbage every Thursday. So before Thursday morning, the garbage can should be pushed to the side of the road and sorted according to the regulations, otherwise the garbage truck will not come to collect.
Route design
-After the trip, I came across that our route was one of the self driving routes recommended by the Australian Tourism Administration. This route combines modern city, aboriginal culture, classical town, spectacular coastline, unique wildlife and numerous natural parks. At the same time, the road condition is good, the self driving distance is moderate, and the driving pleasure can be enjoyed.
-When designing the route and itinerary of self driving tour in Australia
-Australia is a very big country, the distance between the cities is relatively long. When making time planning, you can refer to the driving time given by Google map. But we often stop on the road to view, or stop to see wild animals, so the actual driving time is longer than estimated by Google map.
-According to different seasons, the time of sunrise and sunset varies greatly. We are in summer this time, and the sunset is around 8:30 p.m. So we can arrange to have dinner earlier and go out to see the sunset after dinner.
-If you want to live in a holiday rental house rented by the owner, you need to check the shortest accommodation requirements first. It usually requires at least two nights, some even at least a week. In fact, it's very tiring to sleep in another place every day during the journey. It's better to find a place to live and play around slowly, while also giving physical and mental rest.

Self driving road map:
Melbourne
Singapore is a beautiful city. I seldom use the word "beautiful" to describe a city, but I have lived in Singapore for more than four years. I really think Singapore is beautiful, like a well-dressed niangya girl, neat and bright. Melbourne is totally different. It's more like a 30-40-year-old yuppie. It's dressed differently but has taste. It pursues temperament and independence. It's the most artistic city in Australia. There are many ancient European cultural symbols in Melbourne, such as ancient stations, magnificent churches and mosaic decorated arcades. Nearby are modern city squares and modern buildings. Graffiti on both sides of small streets are mixed with Australian Aboriginal paintings of both symbolism and abstraction, showing Melbourne's diversified artistic atmosphere.
(the famous Flinder's STR station is in the background)
(the classic fulindes Street station is opposite the modern federal Square)
(19th century hotel)
(Missing pair of balls?!)
(the whole street is full of canvases)
(it happens that there is a model taking pictures in front of the graffiti)
(the trees in the street are decorated with Aboriginal decorations)
Degraves street is short but famous. Several cafes set tables and chairs along the street. There are local people and tourists. They drink coffee and have breakfast in the middle of the street. In Australia, of course, you need to drink flat white, which is similar to latte. It's just that there is no milk bubble, but it makes you more like local people when you order coffee. If you want to be more like local people, you must learn some Australian English, such as
G’day mate! Hello, man!
No worries! No problem
Have a barbecue
Good onya! good job
Aussie Australian
Bloody 。。。
It's basically wrapped in a mouth with a quail egg in it. It's a bit like English.
(Flat white coffee)
(waiting patiently for the owner to buy coffee)
And mustache shaving in the barber shop on the street. Is it a feature of Melbourne to see a lot of bearded people in Melbourne?
Next to our seat, there is a suspected homeless man who is drinking in a container. My father ran to sit with him and gave him a cigarette. I didn't expect that my father still had such proletarian feelings.
You can see such blue bicycles on the streets of Melbourne. In fact, such a city is very suitable for cycling sightseeing. The city center is not very big, and the cars are hard to stop, so the bicycles are much more flexible. Recently, someone photographed Schwarzenegger riding such a taxi bicycle on the streets of Melbourne. He was also caught by the police without wearing a helmet.
Another convenient means of transportation in Melbourne is tram. Around the city center, there are free trams with colorful body paint, known as art tram, which also adds artistic temperament to Melbourne.
The people waiting for the bus on the street are not prisoners in prison. I think they should be fans of Melbourne Collinwood Australian football team. In several Rugby sports, I think Australian rugby is the most ornamental. Its game is rarely interrupted and it has been in motion. The football club will cross a long distance in a very short time. Players who do not wear any protective clothing will gallop (not naked run) on the field, intercept and capture frequently, and there are many chances to score. Compared with Australian rugby, American rugby runs, stops and players wear exaggerated protective jerseys. It was in Victoria that this kind of Australian football became popular.
(arcades in Australian cities are European)
On the other side of the Yarra River stands Eureka 88, a residential building with the highest viewing platform in the southern hemisphere. On the platform on the 88th floor, my daughter and I were suspended in the air. There was only a layer of glass between us and the ground 300 meters below. It's a wonderful day. You can see the distance.
Having dinner at the beach with friends and relatives living in Melbourne, we ran from the restaurant to the beach for sunset time and again, but we were told that this kind of scenery is very common here. At that time endless envy hate ah!
The hotel in Melbourne is a small Charsfield Hotel, which dates back to the end of the 19th century. I don't know if this billiard table is also an antique. But a few children don't care whether they are antique or not. They just poke when they come up!
Great Ocean Road
The great ocean road starts in Torquay and ends in allansford. It is one of the most famous landscape highways in Australia. In many of the world's top 10 landscape highways on the Internet, the name of Dayang road is often included. The road up the mountain meets the sea, the forest meets the cliffs, many bays, Cape lighthouses, nature parks, wildlife, and of course the famous 12 disciples. It takes one and a half hours to drive from Melbourne to torkan. If you drive all the time, you can get to 12 in more than three hours. We stayed in Johanna on Dayang road for two nights to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road. There is a slower, but also more physical way to play, that is, walking 104 kilometers along the great ocean walk. Leave it to your daughter to explore later! The original intention of building this road is to resettle the soldiers who returned to Australia after World War I and provide them with employment opportunities. It sounds a bit like our investment in infrastructure to boost GDP.
(I opened the mountain and planted the tree.)
Oh, this is too big
(a dog is crazy when he sees the sea. He rushes into the water from 200 meters away and rolls a few times before running out.)
(there is a row of eucalyptus trees in the Kennet river. A few koalas live here. No matter how tourists take photos, they just ignore it.)
This section of the bay is eroded by the sea, forming a huge cliff, which is a series of islands formed after the rocks are eroded and isolated. In fact, there have never been really 12, probably 9. I think the most interesting thing is the London Bridge. It used to be a headland connected with the land. Due to the erosion and erosion of the waves, it formed two round holes, just in double arch shape, so it was named "London Bridge". In the evening of January 15, 1990, the round hole connecting with the land suddenly collapsed and separated from the mainland, forming the broken bridge now seen. Fortunately, no one fell down at that time. Only two people were isolated from the mainland at the far end of the broken bridge and later rescued by helicopters.
(Lundun bridge)
Let's talk about where we live. It's a normal ranch. It mainly raises 300 sheep. The owner also raises two goats, several alpacas, two ponies, one horse, one donkey, two turkeys, a group of ducks and chickens, and of course, two shepherds. Besides sheep, I think all the other animals are owners' pets. Dogs help, chickens and ducks lay eggs, ponies and donkeys are pets. There are also different fruit trees around the house, including walnuts, apples, lemons and so on. There are blackberries everywhere. The owner said that blackberries are full of vitality. After birds eat blackberries, the seeds spread with the feces. Blackberries grow very fast and occupy the space and nutrients of other plants. So when we saw blackberries, we picked them and ate them. They're completely natural. The host also planted a small piece of vegetable land for the guests, with various spices - Mint, basil, rosemary (which we also used when we made Barbie), cucumber and strawberry.
(the alpaca looks very funny)
(all kinds of birds, all kinds of singing)
(two ponies)
(this one has a bit of artistic temperament)
(this horse is a guest on the farm. It's magnificent and handsome, but it's very naughty.)
(smiling goat)
(the protagonist of the farm is actually sheep. There are more than 300 sheep. They are fat one by one. They are only raised as pets.)
(two turkeys and a family of ducks)
Two shepherd dogs are the cutest on the farm
There are three independent wooden houses for rent in the ranch. We rented one of the two rooms. From the terrace, we can see the valley in front of the ranch and the sea in the distance. In the evening, there was a beautiful sunset. We took a lot of photos and expressed a lot of emotion. There's a big temperature difference here. Although it's summer, it's hot in the daytime, but it's cool after sunset. We lit the fireplace in the log house and watched the big pieces of firewood emit red fire in the fireplace to enjoy the peace in the mountain. The bed is very comfortable, and the host has spread an electric blanket very attentively. After a bottle of wine, I feel beautiful until dawn.
(the one on the right is Blackwood cottage we live in.)
(when the sun goes down, it's like the door of hell opens)
Morning clouds, along the hillside to the river, flowers quietly open, the river quietly flow. The sheep on the roadside were grazing quietly. Suddenly, a bull roared at the top of the mountain in the distance, breaking the silence of the morning.
The owner told us that we might be able to buy lobster at the Port Campbell gas station. We'll look for it and see if there is any! There are at least a dozen lobsters hidden in the dark cold storage pool. It is said that they were caught the day before yesterday. They are more than 90 Australian dollars a kilogram. We chose one of them, about two kilos. Lobster is delicious, but how can live lobsters kill us amateur chefs. Fortunately, the people at the gas station told us that we could "drown" the lobster with fresh water. It really worked when we came back for a try, but the lobster burst out quite a lot of power before it died, making us all wet.
Lobster Sashimi raw, lobster head and pliers on the lobster porridge, it is delicious! The rest is left for the owner of the farm to make the bottom of the seafood soup.
Do you have a two foot lobster
(drowning lobster!)
This lobster shell doesn't peel easily
(after eating lobster sashimi and lobster porridge, it's delicious!)
(happy kitchen)
Leave Johanna and continue westward. After 12 disciples and port Campell, you arrive at warrnamboo. Warnamboo sounds like a small town, but in fact, we are all surprised by the large professional shopping malls in warnamboo. I thought we were in the United States. A little further west of warrnamboo is the Tower Hill wildlife reserve. We can see ostriches here. We can see a few ostriches on the grass in front of the tourist center. They are eating the turf desperately. Maybe because the turf is cut very short, a few ostriches kneel on the ground and stretch their heads endlessly. It looks very funny.
In fact, the landform of Tashan is more interesting. It is an extinct crater. There have been many eruptions, the front eruption formed a large ring crater, and the later eruption formed a small crater in the big crater, and around the small crater became a volcanic lake. There is only one entrance to the reserve. When you drive out, you can turn left and walk about 1km. There is a viewing platform on the left to see the panoramic view of the crater. The map below may be clearer.
Nan'ao
After leaving Tashan, continue westward, go inland through Portland, and then enter South Australia, another state of Australia. The names of Australia's states reflect the history of the country and the direction of immigration. Australia's earliest European (British) immigrants (actually prisoners) settled in the East, so the eastern states used the British place names, such as New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Other areas developed later, and the composition of immigrants was more complex. Their names were simple: South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory.
South Australia is one tenth of China's, but it has a total population of only 1.5 million, of which 1.2 million live in Adelaide, the capital, and the rest of the country is sparsely populated. We saw a lot of pastures along the way, few towns, only in the vicinity of Adelaide.
The first stop in Nan'ao is Mount Gambier, which is also an extinct volcano, especially its volcanic lake. It has four lakes, and now only two have water. Among them, blue lake is the most famous, because every year from December to March, the water of blue lake turns bright blue, while from April to November, the water of blue lake turns iron gray. There are different opinions on the specific reasons. The more reliable view is that the surface water of the lake is heated to about 20 ℃ in summer, which causes calcium carbonate to precipitate from the solution and form microcrystalline calcium carbonate, leading to the blue light scattering in the sunlight. In winter, the lake water is more turbid, showing a misty color.
We spent the night in rob, a small seaside town. This small town has a glorious history. Rob was the second largest seaport in South Australia, second only to Adelaide. Export trade promoted the development of rob, and the gold rush attracted many overseas immigrants to the gold mines in Victoria. Around 1857, 17500 Chinese immigrants landed in lop and walked more than 400 kilometers to Victoria's gold mine. In order to limit the number of Chinese immigrants, Victoria collected a landing tax of 10 pounds per immigrant, which was not a small amount at that time, even more expensive than the total travel expenses from China to Australia. There is also a Chinese monument on the beach of rob to commemorate the great tide of immigrants.
(former customs)
Now rob is in decline. There are few people in the city and the streets are quiet. We had dinner in an old house on the street, Caledonia inn. Downstairs is a bar and restaurant, fireplace and bar are looking like relics, upstairs is a small hotel, corridors and rooms are small. Walking inside, time goes back. It seems that we can see the sailors drinking beer, talking and laughing loudly, and the braided Chinese are thinking about their way out in the small room upstairs.
We live in Holly Milligan house in rob, which is also a very old house. The original owner bought a piece of land along the lake at the end of the 19th century and built a house to live with his family. We live on one side of the master's room, and the other side of the house is the servant's room. Now the rental price is different. A couple rented the house to open an inn. They took care of the Inn and gave birth to children. Now they are the fourth. When checking in, the host said that the key to one of the rooms had been taken away by the previous guest and was being sent back. We couldn't help but lament that there were not many keys left in the old inn. As a result, we checked out the next day and walked out 200 kilometers. My mother suddenly found that she had brought out the key to another room in her pocket! I had to go to Kangaroo Island and find a post office to send it back to them.
(old inn)
(study, we have breakfast here)
It's a coincidence that when I arrived in Nan'ao, I found that an old friend from Beijing also came to Australia with his family, and the itinerary almost coincided with us. As soon as we got in touch with each other in Lop, they actually got together for less than one kilometer! It's a wonderful world to meet old friends from Beijing in such a corner of South Australia and a small, remote place in Australia!
Kangaroo Island
It's about an hour's ride from Cape Jarvis to Kangaroo Island. Only one company (sealink) operates the ferry line. Sealink also provides hotel reservation, car rental reservation and sightseeing on the island. If time is tight, the tour with sealink is also good. Because it's the Spring Festival and I've been on the road from Dayang road for another two days, I decided to go by myself. I can control the time and distance, and it's easier. We live in Penneshaw, the easternmost part of Kangaroo Island, overlooking the bay where the ferry terminal is located, and we can see the land of South Australia from a distance. It's 150 kilometers from Penneshaw to finder's Chase National Park, the westernmost part of the island. I wanted to go to see the remarkable rocks, but I thought it was too far away. But there are still many places to see in the middle and east of the island. It will take at least five days to really visit the important scenic spots of Kangaroo Island.
(sealink's Ferry)
The night we arrived was new year's Eve. This new year's Eve dinner can't make do. We made a lot of preparations on the way, especially our relatives and friends in Melbourne helped us prepare a lot of Chinese food seasonings in advance, and the house we rented also had a lot of cooking utensils and seasonings. Although there are not many dishes, they are delicious.
In Kangaroo Island, we live in a holiday rental house called thorn on the island, which is actually someone else's home. The owner is an interior designer and chef. The location, decoration and equipment of the house are very particular. It's one of the best houses I've rented during my travel in recent years. If necessary, the host can come to make a big meal for the guests to taste. My parents are full of praise for this house, and my mother has promised to come and live for a month.
There is an enclosed garden in front of the house. The owner put an automatic sink outside the fence. There are always local kangaroos and little kangaroos to drink water. We must come to Australia to see the wild kangaroos. A few days before the trip, we had been looking for kangaroos by the side of the road with wide eyes, but except for two or three dead kangaroos, we never saw any live ones. It was not until I entered Nan'ao that I found two in the roadside farm. So when we arrived at Kangaroo Island, we were very surprised and took photos. After a long time, I don't feel it. I naturally sit on the terrace drinking tea and watching the kangaroos strolling around.
(Kangaroo drinking at the door)
(wallaby, the thief)
(and albino Kangaroo)
(Kangaroo running on the street)
In the evening, we sat on the terrace, covered with blankets, with our heads on the back of the reclining chair, looking at the Milky way, looking at the starry sky different from the northern hemisphere, guessing the constellations, drinking wine, chatting and joking. It was really enjoyable. Now when I write these words, I can still feel the beauty at that time.
Kangaroo Island is like a miniature version of Australia. Different regions have different landforms and characteristics. Around the island are beaches, clear water, soft white sand, and eroded rocks; The rolling hills in the East and west of the island have large areas of virgin forest; And the middle of the island is dry red soil, like the vast desert of central Australia. This is the habitat of many wild animals. In addition to kangaroos, we also see sea lions, parrots, koalas, pelicans, eagles and all kinds of unnamed birds.
In Kangaroo Island Safari Park, I saw koala running around on the ground for the first time, and nestled up to my feet like a child, letting me touch. In the garden, you can feed kangaroos. Some kangaroos may be full and ignore the food in your hand, but some kangaroos are very active and hold my hand with their claws. There is a very big kangaroo, put his head in another female kangaroo's bag, we all think it's very strange. Later, the administrator told us that the mother kangaroo was his mother, and the other kangaroo was her son. Although she was older than her mother, she still had to feed. Because the kangaroo here never go to the wild, habits and wild kangaroo is different, in the wild kangaroo grow up to leave their mother to make a living.
(grabbing hands)
(I haven't had enough milk yet)
(roll arms and sleeves to fight)
(we all rest)
It's too hot. Come down to cool off
Don't bite my ass
(come on, baby, look at the camera)
(these two penguins are so pitiful. They are swimming in a concrete pool.)
In seal Bay, for the first time, I came into close contact with sea lions and watched them dominate the harem J. I also know for the first time that sea lions will climb to the land hundreds of meters away from the sea to get warm when the weather is cold.
In raptor domain, I saw the owl so close for the first time. I was surprised by its beauty and its soft feathers. There is also a strong wedge tailed eagle. Although it doesn't eat well, it looks like a king.
This is the most beautiful one
(the reward is real.)
On a passing small beach (Baudin Beach), we found three pelicans and a group of seagulls basking on the beach. Pelican is carefree and doesn't care about our coming.
In Kangaroo Island, there is a place for sand skiing, called little Sahara. My daughter and I went skating, but I couldn't get to the top of the sand dune, and I didn't want to make a detour. From the side, I had to climb halfway and slide down. My daughter's future is daunting. She climbs to the top and slides down. I can't refuse.
There are bee farms and wineries on the island. The bee on the island is said to be an Italian variety, which is unique in Australia. In order to maintain the uniqueness of the variety, bee products are not allowed to be brought to the island. Honey ice cream can't be missed.
I stayed in Kangaroo Island for three nights, but I didn't want to finish. I hope I can come and stay for a few more days. My mother also said that I hope I can stay for a month. On the one hand, natural scenery, such a quiet, idle and harmonious way of life is more attractive. Fresh air, quiet environment and harmonious atmosphere will make people live long.
Get on the ferry and go to Adelaide.
Adelaide
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, the fifth largest city in Australia, with a population of more than one million people. However, it seems that there are not many people in the city. Like most cities in Australia, the residents are scattered in the suburbs. Because of the hot weather, we went to Nan'ao Museum and art museum to hide. Unexpectedly, it was very interesting.
We saw this painting in the art museum. We don't know how to draw, so it's not good to comment on whether it's good or not. We just feel the vivid Aboriginal flavor. It should be in the dusk of rainy season. In the jungle where the light is getting darker and the river is overflowing, an Aboriginal woman carries a basket woven of plant fibers, which should be collected food, and goes back to her habitat. In the habitat, a woman is making a fire to prepare dinner, and an Aboriginal man sits on the ground, looking faintly into the depth outside the painting. At that time, I just thought the picture was beautiful. Later, I went to Northern Territory to learn more about the life of the aborigines. I thought the painting was more vivid.
In Adelaide, you can see the arcade, which connects two commercial streets. There are all kinds of shops in it. It's a good place for window shopping.
Because we had to go to the airport early the next morning, we chose to live in a small town called Glenelg near Adelaide. Granger is a tourist attraction for the local people. The hotel we stayed in has a wide grass in front, a sandy beach in the back, and a long wharf extending into the sea in the back. There are many local people on the grass, some are having a picnic, some are dancing again, a girl is practicing yoga, a large group of people are coming to attend the wedding, and we are experimenting with interesting photography on the grass. It's so comfortable! The nearby square is noisy and a few street performances attract many people. More people drink and dance in the bars on both sides of the square. This is the most popular place in Australia this week.
A journey of harmony
Although the journey was not short, it was very comfortable and harmonious. I have been thinking about why there is such a sense of harmony, perhaps because in Australia, people and nature have reached a certain degree of harmony. Here, the sky is still the true color of the sky, the lake water keeps clear, the rainbow can be seen in the city, and the long beach is absolutely free of garbage. Large areas of nature reserves ensure the activity space of wild animals.
The feeling of harmony during the trip also comes from the family members, the local people and the old friends.
Of course, monkeys are indispensable to our journey. They are also part of the harmonious journey.
The car for this trip is carnival, 8-seat mini van of Kia. When I ordered a car, I hesitated for a while. I didn't want to rent a Korean car, but it was very difficult to find a car of the same class of other brands. Driving all the way proved that the car was very reliable, good performance and powerful. We have five people in one car. When we overtake on the road, we tap the accelerator lightly. The acceleration is quite fast. We are very sensitive to the increase and decrease of the accelerator. The handling is very good. There was another episode when I rented a car: after I picked up the car, I found a scratch on the right rear side, so I asked the car rental company to put it on record. The company told me that the car was scratched in Sydney two weeks ago. The front tenant returned the car to Melbourne Airport and left the key in the car. As a result, the car was stolen before the car was taken by the car rental company. The police found the car after investigation, so the car rental company hasn't had time to repair it. Now I'm worried. Don't drive on the road. The police will catch us as car thieves. Fortunately, there's nothing wrong all the way.
Most of the roads are very good, only in the middle of Kangaroo Island, some small roads are gravel roads without asphalt. The speed limit of most straight roads is 110, which is very slow on the road. However, everyone abides by the speed limit regulations very much, and few of them exceed the standard. On two occasions, I drove faster. Let's review it here. Dad also drove on the left-hand road for the first time in his life. Although it wasn't long, he was still a little nervous.
At the end of the trip, I am tired and looking forward to the next departure. I don't know whether the trip is a short rest or a preparation for a new journey. Let's go further and be more casual.
